Turkish pop music singer-songwriter Fatih Karaca aka Mabel Matiz chose his stage name from two words that he was inspired by : Mabel is taken from Buket Uzuner's novel "Mediterranean waltz", it's the nickname of one of the main characters; and Matiz is a slang word in old Greek language meaning 'boozer'. He began releasing his songs on MySpace in 2008, and his first studio album came out in 2011. After "Hanfendi" and "Kavşaklar" earlier this year (here on Morphosis), dude is back with a new track entitled "Karakol" (Turkish for 'copshop') taken from his fifth album. Directed by Cenan Çelik, the promo video went viral because of its gay emphasis that divided the audience, becoming a trend topic on social media in just a few hours. Over 40m views ! A huge success that embarrassed the Turkish Radio & Television Supreme Council that wanted to censor it. "I am crying but with joy ! I sincerely thank you for your messages and comments", the singer said to his 1m followers on Instagram. And for your information, actor Serdar Bileke plays the love interest.
