Hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jaden Hossler (formerly known as jxden) rose to prominence on TikTok in 2019 before starting a music career in early 2020 with the release of his début single "Comatose" you could discover on Morphosis, which caught the attention of American musician Travis Barker, who signed him to his label DTA Records. In June 2023, he announced he would be taking a break from music for mental health reasons. He later revealed that he was in rehab, handling his anxiety and mental health issues and mostly achieving sobriety. After some singles released last year (here), he's now back with a new track entitled "Chrome hearted". This first song under his full name marks his shift from primarily making pop-punk music to making just pop. He stated he wrote this single before entering rehab. "I think it was a big reason why I felt comfortable going, because I felt like I had a glimmer of hope; like I wasn't coming out to nothing", he explained. "This song was really the first moment where I was proud of myself again in a really, really long time; and it felt the same way as soon as I got out", he continued. "I kind of got obsessed with [luxury brand] Chrome Hearts at the time so it came into my mind to use it as an adjective". He co-directed the promo video with Rachel Rinehardt.
